Procedure for the conferral

1 - Administrations, public and private entities, institutions and organizations of the National Service, accredited to the PIB procedure at the link https://pib.protezionecivile.it, may submit online collective or individual nominations for the certificate of public merit.

2 - The Department of Civil Protection submits all nominations to the Permanent Commission.

3 - The Permanent Commission submits the nominations evaluated positively to the Head of the Department of Civil Protection.

4 - The Head of the Department of Civil Protection proposes the list of candidates to the President of the Council of Ministers who issues a decree to make official the names of the recipients, ie people who will be granted the certificate of public merit.

5 - The Department of Civil Protection takes care of updating the general register of the winners and publishes it on its website.

6 - The Department of Civil Protection, at its expense, sends the diplomas to the recipients.

7 - In possession of the diploma, the awarded may, at their own expense, buy the insignia.

The organism that requests individually or collectively the certificate of public merit must keep the documentation concerning the request for the award for at least 5 years from the date of granting.
