The Activities and International Relations Office:

  1. coordinates and promotes the Department's relations with the European Union;
  2. coordinates and promotes the activities of the Department within the framework of international organizations;
  3. coordinates and promotes the Department's involvement in international projects.

The Relations with European Union and International Organizations Unit deals with:

  1. relations with national bodies engaged in international cooperation activities, with European and international organizations, and with individual states regarding civil protection;
  2. relations with the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) of the European Commission and the development of organizational models and procedures for the National Service's participation in the European response capacity;
  3. Involvement in shaping the regulatory process at the European level and activities related to the EU Solidarity Fund;
  4. design, programming, and implementing the Department's activities in managing European structural and investment funds

The International Projects Unit for the development of the Civil Protection System deals with:

  1. activities related to the coordination and involvement of the Department in European projects and other international organizations;
  2. activities related to the coordination and involvement of the National Civil Protection Service in training and exercise activities, including the coordination of European projects and other international organizations;
  3. relations with counterpart institutions in European countries or other national and international organizations in the management of projects funded by structural funds and community programs, including the financial instrument of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism to strengthen long-term cooperation among social, economic, and political stakeholders within the civil protection framework.
